'What about on my office table which is some distance away from the window?'
There're still some succulent species that do well in lower light condition like Haworthia, Gasteria, Aloe, Lithops etc.

This method only applies to lower light succulent species and terrariums.
1. Don't water your succulents for the first 1-2 days, place them at your desire location.
2. Start watering on the 3rd day, but keep the water volume low. Observe their change.
3. If they turn pale in color or if you see obvious stretching of leaves or stem, means they're looking for sunlight.

4. If you see no change for the first week, means they're doing well in the light condition you're providing. Keep 'em there and slowly resume the normal watering frequency.
This method is for you to try out lower light succulent species in the office (with a window). If you're getting a 'high sunlight requirement succulent' or if you're not having a window for them, this method will certainly not work because they'll never survive in that condition.
