How to keep succulent's shape and size small for a longer period of time?

Always keep them in a pot just nice for the rootball & slightly bigger than the plant only. Never plant them in a pot that is a lot bigger than their own size.

Restricted space will not only restrict their growth in size abut will also stress them to grow more compactly and turn into vibrance color. Limited water will be absorbed and provided to the plant in a smaller pot. Hence the plant will also restrict its growth in size to avoid over consumption of energy and water. More energy will be spent on growing new compact leaves. Hence you will realize the form of a succulent is usually nicer in a smaller pot.

Oversized pot stores extra water that will cause succulents to turn leggy and sometimes cause root rot to the plant.
